Do you have to list your house for sale before you buy another one? That is a contingency.
There are many types. Have you even listed your home, yet? If not, the sellers are probably not going to be really excited about your offer. If your home is listed, then they may consider it. If your home already has a contract, and you're wanting to purchase a sellers' home, that's when they'll be more favorable to accept it.
